Smart Energy Management

SEM makes life easier for energy suppliers - thanks to CANCOM.

Check, process and pass on data - the SEM suite can do it all

The SEM-Suite was developed by CANCOM Austria to remotely read and configure digital electricity, gas, water and heating/cooling meters regardless of manufacturer, type and communication technology.

The meter data received in the SEM suite is checked for plausibility, stored in historicized form and processed in order to pass it on to higher-level systems (e.g. billing and customer portals). The modern user interface enables maximum convenience and offers many tools to support the smooth operation of a smart meter system, such as ...

Intelligent energy supply - smart grid needs smart meters

Smart meters form the basis for smart energy management systems (SEMS) - the intelligent electricity grid of the future. This so-called smart grid enables the efficient integration of important components such as decentralized renewable energies, e-mobility and automatic load distribution. The Electricity Directive in the third EU internal market package calls for the introduction of "intelligent metering systems" - i.e. smart meters - for all energy consumers.

Despite this, many business processes at energy suppliers and grid operators are still handled manually - often laboriously and cost-intensively. This is why the energy sector is currently undergoing fundamental change. Driven by the introduction of smart meters, numerous processes are being digitalized - the basis for modern energy management and smart solutions with which energy consumption can be efficiently and automatically controlled and reduced.

One of the key components for the digitalization of these business processes is the CANCOM Austria SEM suite, which acts as a central data hub and receives, processes and forwards data from a wide variety of systems (billing, SAP, customer portals, smart meters, etc.).

Ready for the energy transition? We are!

The Smart Energy Management System (SEMS) is the central management tool in smart meter environments for monitoring both system and business processes, detecting faults at an early stage and rectifying them automatically and efficiently. It actively supports grid operators in energy management and enables the targeted control of complex processes.

Above all, grid operators benefit from noticeable efficiency gains in grid operation through the introduction of smart metering. Time-consuming processes such as meter reading, billing, relocation processing and the commissioning or shutdown of systems can be automated, digitized and significantly simplified with the SEM - for more control, lower costs and intelligent energy solutions of the future.
