Platform strategy as the key to agility and innovation in the public sector?
As a central administrative body of an Austrian federal state, this organization stands for a combination of traditional administration and modern technology. It strives to improve the efficiency and accessibility of its services through innovative IT solutions.
Business Challenge
The challenge was to develop a platform strategy that integrates both IT infrastructure and software development (traditional + DevOps). The aim was to create a basis for a next-generation on-premises data center and at the same time lay the foundations for infrastructure automation and an efficient public cloud strategy.
Solution
By designing a holistic infrastructure as code implementation based on Ansible, the administrative body was able to automate its infrastructure and make it more efficient. In addition, a comprehensive cloud strategy for the use of public cloud services was developed to increase flexibility and scalability. We have thus done pioneering work in the public sector and are already very excited about the first use cases!
