Salzburg W.A.Mozart Airport is a modern international airport with destinations in Europe and overseas. Due to its geographical location, Salzburg Airport is a passenger and cargo hub for the Salzburg region, Upper Austria, the Tyrolean lowlands and Bavaria. Up to 1,400 passengers per hour can be handled at two terminals. 13.000 tons of freight are handled every year.

CANCOM Austria emerged from K-Businesscom (formerly Kapsch BusinessCom) at the beginning of 2024. The following case study was written before that and therefore the text was left in the original version.

Business Challenge

Ready for take-off for a challenging modernization project: the entire flight data, information and marketing displays had to be comprehensively redeveloped and implemented - including the preparation of the graphic and colour presentation of the flight data. As ongoing operations were not to be impaired at any time, rapid implementation was particularly important. The entire fiber optic cabling had to be renewed.

Linking the flight data with the new system was a challenge, but it was solved to our satisfaction. The display of arrival and departure times is transmitted almost live from the system to the screens.
