Who is
LandeskrankenhausFeldkirch?

The Vorarlberger Landeskrankenhäuser stand for top-quality inpatient care throughout Vorarlberg - with around 5,000 employees for 450,000 patients. In addition to the state hospital in Feldkirch as a key facility and teaching hospital, the network includes the Hohenems, Bregenz, Rankweil and Bludenz sites, including two nursing schools.

CANCOM Austria emerged from K-Businesscom (formerly Kapsch BusinessCom) at the beginning of 2024. The following case study was written before that and therefore the text was left in the original version.

Business Challenge

The solution was to be integrated into the hospital information system HIS. Thanks to team-oriented project management, the various service providers involved were able to work together efficiently and purposefully.

Solution

The PatientFlow solution from KBC for the main hospital in Feldkirch enables the issue of waiting tickets and orderly access via screen display. A self-check-in via eCard terminal is available for patients "with an appointment". There are a total of four ticket counters with a large user interface and eCard reader at the main entrance, as well as a smaller ticket counter at the Infopoint. Eight information screens are located in the waiting area.

The project management was super reliable and the coordination took place at eye level, very professional and uncomplicated. Everyone pulled together. We are glad that we chose a solution with an interface to our HIS. It was a little more complex, but we now have the optimal solution for us, and the patients are happy too.
