Hilfswerk Niederösterreich?

There for you, for over 40 years: Under this motto, Hilfswerk Niederösterreich has been supporting families in difficult situations. Hilfswerk NÖ is one of the five largest social organizations in the state with around 3,200 employees and 2,800 volunteers as well as around 25,000 customers. The range of services on offer is diverse and tailor-made: mobile care and support, mobile physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy, emergency telephone, menu service and offers relating to childcare, learning training, psychotherapy and counseling.

CANCOM Austria emerged from K-Businesscom (formerly Kapsch BusinessCom) at the beginning of 2024. The following case study was written before that and therefore the text was left in the original version.

Business Challenge

With 68 locations in Lower Austria and care teams that are constantly on the move throughout the state, Hilfswerk NÖ is naturally organized on a decentralized basis. Management is complex: on the one hand, personal and service data and all other relevant information must be recorded locally and made available promptly in order to provide a "service of short distances". At the same time, the largely confidential data of the people to be supported, as well as the schedules, work plans and invoices, must be collected at a central location. In addition, the Android mobile devices used by Hilfswerk NÖ had previously only been approved for making phone calls; all other functions were blocked for security reasons. All in all, these specific requirements can only be solved sustainably with a high-performance and secure enterprise mobility management system.


KBC has developed and implemented an enterprise mobility management solution from the specialist mobilelron for Hilfswerk NÖ. Via a central console and with all the necessary security features - important: protection of confidential data - the mobile devices and applications used can be managed in such a way that data transfer between the mobile devices and the central data center as well as the apps on the mobile devices run reliably. Special business apps from Ilogs and Connect Communication facilitate the coordination of appointments and the recording of time and performance.
